World's most expensive home built in Bozeman

They've been working on this since I moved here. Just finished construction today. Here's an article from when they first announced the project. Yay Bozeman, striving to become the world's most expensive place to live!!!



NEW YORK — If you're looking for a new home and have $155 million to spare, you could be the proud owner of the world's most expensive abodes.

Forbes.com, the online site of Forbes magazine, on Thursday said timber and real estate baron Tim Blixseth has just upped the ante in the price of the world's most expensive home, planning to build and sell a home for $155 million.

The 53,000-square-foot stone and wood mansion will be built at the Yellowstone Club, a members-only, residential ski and golf resort near Bozeman, Montana developed by Blixseth.

That tops the $139 million asking price for Updown Court in Windlesham, England, which was listed No. 1 in the Forbes.com list of the world's most expensive homes in 2006.

It also exceeds the $125 million that U.S. media mogul and reality TV star Donald Trump is asking for the renovated estate he owns in Palm Beach, Florida.

Blixseth, who ranks No. 322 in the 2006 Forbes 400 list with a $1.2 billion fortune, said he had already received interest in the home.

"Some of (the world's richest) just have to have the best. Price is not an issue," he told Forbes.com.

The 10-bedroom mansion will sit on 160 acres and will come with a private gondola-like chairlift that will carry residents to the Yellowstone Club's private ski slopes, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, and a home movie theater, and it is fully furnished.

Wal-Mart bashing is stupid

The other day I came across a couple of know-nothings whining about Wal-Mart's pro-monopoly business tactics.

I ask, what is the sense in punishing a company for its success? We complain about the Wal-Martization of America, with Wal-Marts and other big boxes moving in and neighborhood corner stores moving out. But big box stores are successful because we choose to shop there. The majority of Americans choose Wal-Mart over Bozeman Grocery or whatever; nobody forces them to go to Wal-Mart.

Got an issue with Wal-Mart? Don't shop there. I disagree with many of their tactics with respect to employee benefits and outsourcing, so I don't shop there. That is more than those anti-Wal-Mart malcontents can say.

(btw, hopefully said malcontents don't see this blog :P)

Even the horribly bland Bellichek looks like Isaac Mizrahi with the stupid headband. Would Andy Reid ever be caught dead wearing a headband to warm his ears?

Boston is a cesspool. It is an absolutely wretched filthy wasteland. It is a cold disgusting, smelly, segregated pit of despair. Hey Beantown, scared of Black people? This storm was pitiful
